I’ve always loved Sudoku, but I noticed that while there are plenty of Sudoku apps out there, none of them really let you compete or solve puzzles with other people in real time. So, I decided to build RealTime Sudoku—a simple app that lets you play Sudoku live with others, whether you’re solving a puzzle side-by-side or racing against time.
The idea is pretty simple: you can solve puzzles by yourself or challenge friends and random players to solve the same puzzle in real time. RealTime Sudoku lets you work through the same puzzle simultaneously, and you can see who’s ahead, how many moves they’ve made, and even chat while you play. It’s a cool way to bring a competitive twist to a classic game.
One of the features I’m most excited about is live multiplayer. You can join random puzzles with people from all over, or you can invite friends to play together. It keeps track of who finishes first, and if you’re in a competitive mood, you can race against others to see who can finish the puzzle the fastest. It’s not just about solving the puzzle; it’s about solving it better and faster.
For those who want to practice or play solo, the app has a single-player mode with difficulty levels ranging from easy to expert, so you can always find a puzzle that fits your skill level. Plus, you can set a timer to challenge yourself or just play casually.
Another thing I added is a hint system. If you’re stuck on a puzzle, you can use hints to get a nudge in the right direction. It’s perfect for when you’re in a tough spot but don’t want to give up on a puzzle.
Since it’s all about playing live, RealTime Sudoku also includes a simple chat feature, so you can talk to your opponents or teammates while you’re working through puzzles. It’s a nice way to keep the game social, even if you’re just solving puzzles on your own time.
The app is built to be super lightweight and fast. You don’t need an account to start playing, just jump into a puzzle and get started. But if you want to keep track of your progress or challenge friends, you can sign up for an account and save your stats.
